STARTING 1ST WEEK IN MAY 2006 , IT'S SPRING TIME  STRIPER SEASON!!!!!!!!!!!

On Open Boat dates have  NOT been setup yet. However e mail me your Screen name .I will E -mail you the dates .

The Labor Day weekend traditionally signals the end of some things, and
the beginnings of others.....Summer "ends", Fall "begins.....Vacation "ends", School "begins".....and most importantly, FALL FISHING BEGINS off our coast. For all of you Tampa VII regulars, you KNOW this is the best time of the year to wet a line; schools of hungry blues, weaks, and stripers can show up at almost any moment between now and Thanksgiving along our beaches as they travel south for the winter. The many varieties of tuna will make their presence felt just slightly more offshore; I mean, this is THE time to get your freezers filled with filets for the winter! With that in mind, I've put together some info for you regarding the types of charters &  open Boat Dates  we specialize in for the next three months. As always, if you have any questions, please feel free to contact me and lets see what we can put together for you........

INSHORE TUNA  INFORMATION  "WHAT TO EXPECT!!!!!!

Typically, this fishery develops in mid-September, and can run as late as November....new regulations have eased up what has been a VERY tightly regulated season, and it's now possible to actually make one of these trips worthwhile when the fish are biting!  Bluefin are the most highly sought-after tuna on the planet, and these fish pass through our mudhole and 20+ mile wreck & lumps areas during the fall. Fish can range anywhere from 20 pounds to 50 pounds and several hundred pounds fish caught each fall run.. This past August saw some fast and furious action with these fish when very clear waters showed up at our in-shore waters, and I'm looking for an extended repeat very shortly.......trips can be a combination of trolling and chunking, depending on what the fish are hitting on, and generally these are much longer trips than our typical inshore bottom or bluefish trips. The Tampa VII may leave the dock at 5:00am or sooner if there is an early morning bite, and very often we don't get back before 3:00pm.....all tackle and bait is provided with charters (this may require much heavier gear on occasion, but 40/50 lbs outfit will be good. and the Tampa is ready for you with the best equipment on the market), and we definitely would like to limit the number of people on the boat to 20 passengers .   NMSF can close the season down at anytime. Please contact me for Bluefin Regs along  ideas and suggestions regarding this type of trip. As an aside, we also very often get into "other" tunas such as skipjack, and false albacore, as well as the tasty bonito and Mahi  Mahi . These are light tackle demons, who can put a hurt in your wrists and arms with their blazing runs and 15 minute fights around the boat....every year is different, but usually SOME kind of action is available. Please note: Lower boat traffic usually results in better catches......

        STRIPED BASS DAYTIME JIGGING, AND EVENING EELING TRIPS

Anyone who had a chance to experience the Fall fisheries with me these past two years has been in for a treat on many occasions. Daytime trips get under way as soon as the Fall migration begins. Some days its only a matter of turning North or South outside of the inlet and looking for birds working over the bait schools. Stripers to 30 pounds....   weakfish to 8 pounds or more...and of course the ever-present alligator blues up to 18 pounds can all attack your jigs at the same time, and quite often multiple species are caught on the same charter 2001 striped bass regulations ARE ONE FISH OVER 24 INCHES BUT UNDER 27.99 INCHES & ONE FISH OVER 28 INCHES.
Contact me for details and pricing. ABOUT CHARTER RATES

Evening trips are usually very consistent for stripers. We leave the
dock at varying hours depending on tides (you have to pick an evening; we set the time of the trip), and we supply live eels, worms AND BUNKER. Last year saw many trips "limiting out" on stripers in only a few hours, but once again, this can be tricky depending on tides. We sail north and hit AREAS LIKE the SHREWBURY ROCKS, between THE CHANNELS, Sandy Hook region and wherever NECESSARY, I TRY TO stay away from the fleets to find my own schools of fish....... As always...if you cant get a complete group together, please contact me .you don't have to worry about filling the boat with passengers;
