Hi everyone! I'm Gene Becker, captain of the Tampa VII charter boat..... welcome to our new web site!

I can't promise you the coolest, neatest, fishing site on the web, but I will promise you a site filled with weekly updates regarding the fishing conditions and activities of local inshore waters.

In return for weekly updates, the only favor that I ask of you is for your comments and suggestions.
Feel free to e-mail me at

I will gladly answer any questions that you may have, and who knows, you may even see your suggestions or ideas incorporated in my site in the future.

Well, those of you who spent time on the Tampa VII this past year, know that it was one of the best In-shore fishing years in recent times.

Fluke fishing , blue fishing , and bottom fishing was outstanding within a half hours ride from our dock.

Even with the larger size limit on fluke, many charters went home with their limits.  We were also pleasantly surprised with the number of true doormats caught on the rough bottom off Long Branch.

I seldom had to venture further then the mud buoy and Mudhole  for outstanding bluefish action, both day and night.  During most of these charters, false albacore, bonito, and Mahi Mahi gave light tackle enthusiasts on our boat the fights of their lives.  One advantage that the mud buoy has over many other locations, is that anyone who wanted to bounce sinkers on the bottom while we were chunking for blues, usually connected with some nice sized sea bass.  This past season 2005 Fall Mudhole  Bluefin we caught bluefin up to 50lbs and lose few bigger fish boatside.

Call for Spring & Fall Spilt charters  Striped Bass & Inshore Tuna dates and sailing times.

With almost two hundred repeat customers each year, you can see how quickly our choice dates get booked. If you have an interest in setting aside certain dates for 2006, or if you would like to be placed on our mailing list, just go to my  mailing list page and complete the section you desire. Don't forget your E mail address so you can receive special offers.  Or call me at 732-295-8100, I'll be glad to answer your questions and offer suggestions that will make your next charter the best you'll ever have.

Keep Fishing!
